Dear herb friends,
Spring is approaching and it is the perfect time to renew our body and mind with the power of healing herbs. As an herbal witch, I would like to introduce you to my five most important spring herbs:
1. Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica)
The queen of spring cleansing! Rich in iron, vitamin C, and chlorophyll. Perfect as tea or in soup. Purifies the blood and awakens the spirits.
2. Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale)
The underestimated healer. Its bitter compounds support the liver and stimulate digestion. Leaves in salad, roots as tea.
3. Wild Garlic (Allium ursinum)
The wild garlic of the forest. Antibacterial, blood-purifying, and simply delicious in pesto or butter.
4. Daisy (Bellis perennis)
Small but mighty! Supports skin health and can help as tea for colds. Edible flowers beautify any salad.
5. Ribwort Plantain (Plantago lanceolata)
The natural first-aid kit. Indispensable for insect bites, coughs, and small wounds.
Important: Only collect herbs you can identify with certainty, and make sure to gather from clean locations away from roads and sprayed fields.
Which herbs do you use in spring? Share your recipes and experiences!
