O.M. Parkin

OM C. Parkin (bourgeois Cedric Parkin, *1962) is a German mystic, wisdom teacher and author who is best known for combining Advaita Vedanta, Christian mysticism, Sufism, Enneagram teachings and the "Fourth Way". He founded the Enneallionce School of the Fourth Way and the modern Gut Saunstorf monastery in Mecklenburg.

According to his own reports, Parkin experienced a profound near-death and awakening experience as a result of a serious car accident in 1990, which shaped his later work. Shortly afterwards he came into contact with the American Advaita teacher Gangaji, herself a student of H. W. L. Poonja(Papaji) was. From her he received the spiritual name “OM”.

Symbolically, O.M. Parkin for the principle of radical self-knowledge. The focus of his teaching is not the development of special abilities, but the question: Who am I really? He holds the view that the ordinary self is a temporary construction and that behind all identities lies a timeless consciousness.

Parapsychologically-symbolically, Parkin is interesting because he shifts attention from extraordinary phenomena to the nature of consciousness itself. In his view, visions, energies, mediality or spiritual experiences are not seen as goals, but rather as side effects. The decisive factor is the direct knowledge of being, which underlies all experiences. This means that it is more in the tradition of mysticism than of classical parapsychology.

In a deeper symbolic meaning, O.M. embodies Parkin the archetype of the teacher of silence. His work revolves around the idea that truth is found not by accumulating knowledge, but by seeing through what you are not. The path does not lead to new identities, but rather to the dissolution of false identifications. It symbolizes the ancient mystical idea that the deepest knowledge lies not in acquisition, but in letting go.
