Tsa in Tibetan tantric teachings refers to the subtle channels through which Lung (wind, breath, vital energy) and awareness move. While closely related to the Indian concept of Nadis, Tsa are not viewed as anatomical structures but as the experiential architecture of consciousness itself. They are the invisible pathways along which perception, emotion, and insight flow.
Symbolically, the Tsa form the inner network of being—a dynamic lattice of movement and openness. The central channel (Uma or Avadhuti) represents the axis of non-duality, while the side channels embody polarities such as activity and stillness, heat and coolness, compassion and clarity. As long as energy circulates primarily in the side channels, experience remains dualistic; when it enters the central channel, direct realization becomes possible.
On an esoteric level, Tsa are not rigid conduits but malleable pathways shaped by meditation, breath, and awareness. Blocked channels mirror psychological fixation; clarified channels reflect inner freedom. Thus, working with the Tsa is simultaneously working with habit, identity, and perception.
