Vacor phenomenon

Vacor phenomenon

The Vacor phenomenon is a term that is hardly known today from the environment of Wilhelm Reich and his orgone research. Reich used the expression "Vacor" for a special manifestation of his postulated orgone energy. In his later works he described Vacor as a kind of luminous phenomenon or lumination in apparently empty space, which could be perceived under certain observation conditions.

Symbolically, the Vacor phenomenon stands for the idea that space is not empty, but filled with a subtle liveliness. Reich assumed that there was a universal energy behind biological, psychological and cosmic processes, which he called Orgone. Vacor should represent an immediately visible manifestation of this energy.

Parapsychologically and symbolically, the Vacor phenomenon can be understood as an attempt to describe a border zone between perception and the cosmos. Reich was interested in whether consciousness and nature could be connected by a shared energy continuum. The phenomenon was therefore not interpreted as a mere optical phenomenon, but as an indication of a hidden layer of reality.

In a deeper symbolic meaning, the Vacor phenomenon embodies the ancient idea of the living ether or an animated space. It represents the attempt to overcome the separation between matter, life and spirit. However, Reich's assumptions about Orgone and Vacor could not be scientifically confirmed; The orgone theory is now considered pseudoscientific. Nevertheless, the Vacor phenomenon remains of interest as a symbol of the search for a hidden unity behind the phenomena.
